PETER DENIES JESUS

MARK 14:66-72

1. According to Psalm 1:1, 4, what is the progression of a person who is moving away from God?

First he begins to walk with the ungodly. And before long he is found standing around with them. And finally he is sitting with them, part of the group, drowning in sin, in bondage to it, and they that do these things will be blown away like the chaff!

2. According to Psalm 1:2-3, what is the progression of a person who is blessed by God or who is happy in God?

First of all he delights in doing what is right, he follows the Word of God and he meditates on the Word of God, pondering the things of God and applying them to his life. And that person is strong in the Lord, his life is fruitful in the Lord, his life is refreshing in the Lord

3. According to John 3:19-20, why do sinners like the dark?

Because it hides, it covers their sin. Why do you think bars are so dark? So you can do your sin in the dark without anyone recognizing you, without people seeing what you are doing!

4. What is Paul’s point in I Corinthians 10:12?

If you think you can stand on your own, do it yourself, you are dead wrong. Our strength comes from the Lord. If you want to fall, if you want to fail, do as Peter did, stand in your own strength. If you want to shine bright like the sun, look to the Lord to be the strength of your life.
