1.What battle are you in and how are you trying to fight it?
Any battle must be fought on our knees in prayer because the flesh profits nothing, you wont get anywhere doing spiritual battles in the flesh!
2. Some say that Jesus got out of control, caused too much trouble, and that is why He was arrested and put to death. Is that true? See John 10:18.
No, Jesus freely gave His life, He was in control of what was happening. And He did this so we may live, may have life in Him. But he was not out of control as some would say, nor was He ever out of control, He is God!
3. Some people are telling us that we as Christians need to arm ourselves with physical weapons and are to go out and fight these battles with guns and-so-on. Is that what we are to be doing? See Luke 22:35-38.
Of course not. It is not a call for some vigilante Christian group arming themselves for battle. Jesus was speaking spiritually, they were thinking in the physical world. Thus, when they tell Jesus they have two swords, Jesus says "Enough!" It is more than enough, you missed the point is the thought. Jesus said in Matthew 26:52, "But Jesus said to him, Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword." In fact, it is not our place to take the law into our hands, for the Scriptures say "Vengeance is Mine says the Lord!"
4. According to Ephesians 6:12, who do we battle against?
The Spiritual world, the forces behind what people are involved in, what they are doing.
5. How do we stand against this enemy according to Ephesians 6:13?
By putting on the whole armor of God. Having girded your waist in truth, the belt of truth, speaking forth the truths of God, not being a person who lies, for you will be entangled in them. Having put on the breastplate of righteousness, which is found in Christ. Having your feet shod in the gospel of peace, standing upon the good news of Christ. A sure foundation. The shield of faith, believing what God has said in His Word, which extinguishes the enemies arrows. The helmet of salvation which keeps us secure in the faith. The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, used in hand-to-hand combat. And lastly, prayer, which is your heavy artillery. Put it all on!
