THE END OF A LONG DAY

MARK 4:21-41

1. Look up the following verses that deal with faith and expound on how faith manifests itself in our daily lives.

A. ROMANS 1:17

We are to live by faith on a daily basis.

B. ROMANS 4:12

We are to walk by faith, moving as God leads each step of the way.

C. Matthew 21:22

We are to pray by faith believing that the things we ask for, in accordance with God’s will, He will provide for us. We read in I John 5:14-15, "Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."

MARK 4:21-41

D. EPHESIANS 6:16

We can resist the attacks of Satan by placing our faith in the Lord. It is a shield to protect us from the fiery darts of discouragement, fear, anxiety and-so-on.

2. What does "faith" mean to you?

Faith means to believe or trust in something. I believe this chair will support my weight, so I sit in it. God wants us to rest in Him, place our whole weight upon Him, trusting in Him. Hebrews 11:1-3 gives us a definition of faith. It says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible."
